Formed in 2004, the goal of the BC Spartina Working Group (BCSWG) is to eradicate invasive Spartina spp. from the coastlines of British Columbia. The BCSWG is comprised of government and non-government organizations and employs early detection and rapid response methods to control for this group of invasive cordgrasses.
In addition, the BCSWG works with the San Francisco Estuary Spartina Project and the Washington State Department of Agriculture, two U.S. agencies involved in the eradication of Spartina spp. along the American Pacific Coast.
