The BC Spartina Working Group has spent the last 15 years reaching out to communities all over the province. The threat of Spartina invasion to our coastal ecosystems is still largely unknown amongst the public, and so we have been doing our part to educate others through public forums, conferences, and walking tours. Today, we have gained the support of many organizations, including conservation groups such as the Surrey Natural Areas Partnership (SNAP) and Salmon Habitat Restoration Program (SHaRP) based out of Surrey, BC. It is through the volunteer support of programs such as SNAP and SHaRP as well as the financial backing of our supporters that makes the Spartina Eradication Program possible.
